The movie opens with David, having s3x with the court stenographer. It’s revealed right after, it was a fantasy, as he likes to have these kind of talks with his fiancé, Tish.
The two are on holiday in Alhambra. Tish is the US ambassador to Hungary’s daughter, while David works for him. Her father doesn’t quite like him, as he thinks he doesn’t have what it takes to make it big.
Tish doesn’t understand why David wants a bachelor party, as she calls it “infantile debauchery”, but she proposes to him a threesome with another woman who lives with them at the hotel, who hits on Tish while out at a club. A threesome is not “infantile debauchery”, it’s worse!
They do, David effs the woman right next to Trish, and after a while, back in Budapest, he receives an envelope with pictures of the event. Soon after, they are called by someone asking for money. They think it’s the housekeeper of the hotel who is working with Risa, the woman the two had s3x with.
David doesn’t want to go to the police (how convenient ), as he is afraid this is going to ruin his career. So, instead of hiring someone, considering how rich and connected her family is, they decide to do everything on their own. And looking for the housekeeper and Risa, they end up in the Budapest s3x clubs and the p0rnography industry, as they think she is a prostitute. Doing so, Trish ends up naked in front of strange men. Somehow it makes sense to her to take her clothes off in front of strangers as if that wouldn’t jeopardize her family’s business!
The movie was ridiculous! It had potential but it was just boring. It honestly is the usual mindless erotic thriller that everyone is making.
Tish is “very open minded” as she seems to be fine with having an open relationship, because this is what this is, if you watch the movie.
The reveal at the end is dumb, as this would have worked only if Trish did what she did, and she could not have done it! SPOILER Not to mention, this means David is so cold and calculated! And doesn’t love her!
Although named “8mm 2” the movie has nothing to do with the 1999 Nicolas Cage movie. Apparently the original title was “The velvet side of hell” which sounds so much better, great, actually.
The acting was fine.
The soundtrack was Ok.
The movie has really low ratings from the audience and critics alike. It actually has no critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
Viewer discretion is advised, as the movie contains full frontal nudity.
Rating : Could have been a contender !
