A few years ago, Nina couldn’t afford to buy food from a supermarket. On her way home, waiting at the green light, a car passes by, and the wheel splashes the water it runs into on her clothes. The man gets out of the car apologizing, offering to pay for the clothes he ruined. Nina curses at him and leaves.

At home, her husband, Aleksandr, gets angry when he sees the bill for the loan for the house they live in, that they didn’t pay, as he is the only provider, and money don’t come easy.

Nina takes Chinese classes from her husband, and her friend seems to be in love with him, as Nina seems somehow, disenchanted, maybe due to lack of money. After the class he is teaching, Aleksandr asks Nina to go to the bank in his place as an interpreter, as the bank is also the bank they have the loan at, hoping she’ll impress.

The man from the bank is not impressed her husband sent her, hoping she can translate properly.

After the meeting they go to the casino, and Nina gets along with the CEO, Serghey. After this, they go bowling, and Serghey’s friend tells him to ask her to go to a hotel with him, and Serghey actually asks her if she wants to have dinner with him. At the dinner, she wants to talk about the loan, but he tells her no business, and asks her to go to the hotel room with him. Nina gets offended and leaves, but he tells her she has his number and she knows what he wants from her.

At home ,she proudly tells her husband, who might have 2 jobs (one as a university professor, another as a tour guide for Chinese tourists), she refused 7000 dollars from the casino win, which she actually bet again, and lost, and the hubby loses it. I stand with the hubby, she seems immature, an idealist, maybe. She has no money, but refuses to take the money she wins at a casino.

Nina finally calls Serghey after she sees his picture at the library she studies at, as he is the sponsor. When she calls, Serghey is at home, with his wife and child. He calls her back and sets a date.

At the expensive hotel, she asks for help with the bank loan.He calls his employee and gives them a 3 months free, and the lowest rate after.

Serghey really wins her over in bed, as I think she was not satisfied with her husband, who wasn’t big on prelude.

When she gets home, Aleksandr is happy the bank called to lower the instalments.

Serghey’s wife, who looks just as good as Nina, knows he has an affair, and is not happy with it, but Serghey doesn’t care.

Serghey calls Nina to see her again, and although she says she’s not coming, she does. And they establish to see each other every Tuesday at 4 o’clock. And yet, when they have to meet, Serghey’s son gets sick, and he doesn’t show up. This makes Nina get depressed (she even stalks Serghey a bit to see what’s he doing),to the point her husband thinks her sick and takes her to the doctor.

When Aleksandr wants to have s3x with her (although she was sick) she tells him she slept with another man, and he throws her out.

Nina calls Seghey in the middle of the night, as she has nowhere to go.Serghey rents her an apartment downtown.Nina starts seeing him more often, as she calls him on Sundays when he’s with his family. Serghey is trying to push her away, but she’s very persistent and keeps on coming to his office and calls him at home.

After her ex husband pays her a visit, she calls Serghey who buys her a traveling agency and she tells him she’s pregnant.

The movie was Ok but kinda bored me. At first I felt bad for Nina, as her husband was always lashing out at her for her being so naïve, but he had a point. Nina seems to give in to the relationship with Serghey, as her husband is always angry with something she does (and the lack of money), and she kinda has enough of his bitching, although he’s not wrong about what he says to her.

After,she loses me, as whenever she goes to meet Serghey, Aleksandr is always home with her.But that’s not all, she keeps on calling Serghey knowing he’s married, including when he’s at home, if not mostly when he’s at home, including in the middle of the night, to the point I couldn’t stand her anymore. She becomes a cold, calculated person, who doesn’t believe in love anymore.

Serghey seems to want to break it off with Nina, but doesn’t, after he hears her ex assaulted her, and she’s gonna have Serghey’s child.

Aleksandr seems to really love her and lose his minds over losing her, as he goes from telling her to leave his classes as he loves her and people are laughing at him, for her leaving him and still taking his classes, to going to her place, and I think, r@ping her.

SPOILERS At the end, Serghey remains with his wife, while Nina is the other woman, who even admits Serghey doesn’t love her, but she loves him.And ends up cheating with her ex husband who still loves her. Circle complete! END OF SPOILERS

 

The acting was good.

The soundtrack was what you’d expect from such a movie.
