All of me 1984

Run time : 1h32min

Genre : Comedy

Cast : Steve Martin

The movie is adapted from the Me Two novel,by Ed Davis .

An eccentric lawyer , Roger Cobb, who takes his dog to work daily, is assigned to write the last will and testament of the very rich Edwina Cutwater, who has been bedridden all her life due to her ill heart.

On her death bed, she says she wished to leave all of her fortune to a young woman, who agreed to partake in this ritual of transmigration, transferring her soul into the soul of the living woman. Why would anyone agree to this is beyond me ( unless they want the money)!

The lawyer refuses, as he thinks the rich woman lost her mind, and the young one is taking advantage of her, trying to get her fortune.

The rich woman talks Roger's boss into it, and right when she signs the papers she is dying. They barely have time to do the ritual, and while Roger walks away, he is hit in the head with the pot the holy man and the two women used to capture her soul in for the transference.

All of a sudden, Roger's body is taken over by Edwina, or at least, his right side is, as he is unable to use it ( I don't understand why is it the right side, considering the left side is the receiver and the right one the transmitter).

This leads to a series of funny events, and also, brings these two close together.

The movie was funny, Steve Martin was great, talking to himself and fighting himself. Edwina kinda annoyed me. I loved the dog.

I didn't understand how could he see her in the mirror, since it was her soul in his body, and one can't see the soul, but I think this was more for the audience, to put a face on the one he was talking to.

I didn't like the soundtrack, it's a lot of Jazz music, I personally hate jazz.

The movie is streaming on The Roku Channel, Hoopla, IMDB Amazon Channel, Kanopy, Tubi Tv, and is for rent or buy on the usual platforms, Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Google Play, Microsoft Store, Vudu, YouTube.

Rating : Worth a watch !
