The movie was written and directed by Adam Egypt Mortimer, from a story he wrote with Lucas Passmore.

A homeless man who tells his life story for a drink to strangers, believes he is from another dimension.

Hamster wants to be a reporter so he interviews the homeless man, believing in him, paying him in beer.

His sister is a drug dealer trying to make enough money to send him to college although he dropped out of school.

I liked his sister’s identity, Indigo, she loved everything dark blue: her hair was blue, her blankets, her clothes, even the cakes she was baking!

Apparently the first time I watched it I loved it, but now not so much!

One thing that bothered me now was the fact Max, the homeless man, was an alcoholic and drug addict! He was supposed to be a super hero, but instead of making something of himself, he became a pathetic, neanderthal version of his former self.

I didn’t like how the creators thought he should be high or drunk all the time to function, as the drugs are what give him superpowers in the other dimension.

Also, the siblings look old, the brother who’s supposed to be younger, looks much older than his sister, he looked 40 to me!

The movie is half cartoon, as in the other dimension they are cartoon characters. When Max remembers the past / his past life, we see the events happening as an animation. I loved how they crossed from the cartoon world into the real world.

SPOILERS In the beginning, due to the things happening, and then when the action starts, due to the fact the homeless takes drugs,I thought his story might be false but it wasn’t.

There’s a twist, which to be honest due to the memories scenes,I saw it coming, and the archenemy is someone close to the homeless man.END OF SPOILERS

The acting was good. The first time I watched it, I loved how Amy Seimetz, who plays Cleo, the archenemy, acted. I still liked the cool, calculated way, like nothing could phase her, she acted. She appears towards the end of the movie.

The visual effects were good.

The music was Ok, but could have been better.

Viewer discretion is advised, as the movie contains violence and drug use.

Rating : Worth a watch !
