The movie opens with a mission Ava is on, as she has to drive a man she has to k1ll. When she stops on the way to a remote location, she asks him if he knows why is he being targeted, and the man says he doesn’t know. This doesn’t sit well with her employers, who had her followed, and listen in to her conversation.

Checking in to a hotel in Boston, she is given a new mission, to k1ll a German general who is in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and to make it look like it was natural causes. As she injects him with something ,to make it look like he died of a heart attack, she asks him if he knows why would anyone want to k1ll him.

The general’s men barge in, trying to k1ll her, and she realizes she was given wrong intel. She barely makes it out of there.

In Boston, she visits her estranged sister, who is a singer, and who is now dating Ava’s ex boyfriend. Although she’s the one dating Ava’s ex, her sister is the one hating on Ava.

Her mother had an angina attack ,and is in the hospital. From her conversations with them, we find out it’s been 8 years since she saw them, and at the time she was a drunk and dr@g addict.

Ava is being attacked on the street by a man with a gun, who is trying to k1ll her. She barely manages to get away, and Ava is highly trained in martial arts.

Ava was in the military, and now works as a hitman. When she talks to her handler and former military superior, Duke, about how somebody wants her dead, as it happened in Riyadh, and now in Boston, he thinks it was just a mistake, as the attacker had a history of drug use.

When he talks to his superior, Simon, he finds out the man wants her dead because she’s asking the marks questions.

I enjoyed the movie this time, as I watched it before, years ago, and I hated it. Ava is sad, haunted by her job and her past with her father, her mother trusting him over her. Her mother is annoying, it seems she likes to pick on her, and to pin her against her sister. At the end we realize maybe she’s like that because she doesn’t know what to say to her after she took her father’s word over hers, knowing he was lying.

Her sister was annoying. She is dating Ava’s ex, but she’s the one who can’t stand her.

Back into her family’s life, Ava is trying to fix things for them, as her ex has a gambling problem, and owes a lot of money to a gambling house owner, Toni.

 

I liked the fighting scenes.

The acting was good.

I liked the soundtrack.

Ava holds ratings under 39% from the critics of Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes, and a score of under 44 from the audience on the same platforms. IMDB gave it a 5.5 rating.
