Batman Forever is a superhero movie based on the character Batman from the DC Comics created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. It is the 3d installment of the franchise, and was produced by Tim Burton, who directed the previous ones.

The movie opens with Two Face trying to k1ll Batman by baiting him with a hostage situation. After Batman escapes his trap and rescues the people involved, we see who is Two Faced and what happened to him, as he was a former district attorney who Batman failed to rescue in time, who was disfigured by a mobster, developed a split personality, and holds Batman responsible for his misfortune, swearing vengeance at all costs.

Bruce Wayne has a fan in Edward Nygma, who after has his project ( an invention which can beam tv straight into people's minds which could end up controlling them) refused by Wayne, swears vengeance, and starts by k1lling his supervisor.

Batman has a fan in criminal psychologist Chase Meridian, who goes as far as to use the Batman signal, to get a date with him.

Bruce is not immune to her charms so he looks her up, pretending he needs advice on the riddles his former employee sends him, and invites her to the circus.

At the circus Two Face makes an appearance asking who knows who Batman is, threatening to k1ll everyone with a b0mb. Trying to help the crowd against Two Face's imminent threat, The Flying Graysons, a family of trapeze artists, fall to their death, their youngest son being able to throw the b0mb into the waters outside at the last moment.

Reminding him of himself, as he was also orphaned, Bruce takes Dick Grayson in, but the kid (he looked like an adult to me),doesn't plan on staying. He changes his mind when he sees Bruce's motorcycle collection.

Nygma takes on a new identity, The Riddler, and pays a visit to Two Face, asking him to join forces to take the Batman down.

I personally enjoyed the movie, it pulled me into its world, I was invested in the story. The movie had beautiful colors, like the early videos of the 90's filmed on that blue color.

The acting was good. I liked Val Kilmer as Batman, he was cool, collected and sexy. I also liked Tommy Lee Jones' Two Face. Jim Carrey was pretty much playing himself, and honestly I'm sick of always seeing him act like this in movies (apparently Tommy Lee Jones agrees with me).

Drew Barrymore's role is almost a cameo, as she plays one of Two Face's girls. She looks great, though.

The soundtrack was so and so, as I didn't quite like it. Ok, I didn't like it.

The movie received mixed reviews, but it grossed 336.6 million dollars at the box office, against a budget of 100 million, being the 6th highest grossing movie of 1995, and even has a video game.

The movie was nominated for 3 Oscars, Best Sound, Best Cinematography and Best Sound Effects Editing.

Cinema Score audiences gave the movie an A-, on an A+ to F scale!

Before Val Kilmer was cast, Ethan Hawke (who turned it down),Johnny Depp, Ralph Fiennes, Daniel Day-Lewis and William Baldwin were considered. Chase Meridian was offered to Rene Russo who was dropped after Kilmer was cast, as they thought her too old for him. They considered Linda Hamilton ( Sarah Connor from Terminator) before the role was given to Nicole Kidman.

Al Pacino, Clint Eastwood, Martin Sheen and Robert De Niro were considered for Two Face, before Tommy Lee Jones got it (he was reluctant in playing him,but his son convinced him to accept it).

Robin Williams turned down The Riddler's part, and John Malkovich was allegedly considered, alongside Steve Martin, Matthew Broderick and Kelsey Grammar, among others. Even Michael Jackson wanted to play the part, but Jim Carrey was chosen!

Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Ewan McGregor and Jude Law, among others, were considered to play Robin.

Rating : Worth a watch!
