Beverly Hills cop 2

Year of release : 1987

Run time : 1h43min

Genre : Comedy / Action

Cast : Eddie Murphy, Brigitte Nielsen

The movie is the 2nd installment of the 4 movie series, the last one being released this month on Netflix.

It opens with a jewelry store robbery. Bogomil investigates on his own, what they call the Alphabet robberies.

Axel is in Detroit, working undercover. When he hears Bogomil was shot and is in the hospital in critical condition, he asks his colleague to work undercover in his place, and flies to Beverly Hills.

He tricks the workers working on a mansion who's owners are away on vacation, to stop working there for a week, and moves in.

Rosewood and Taggart have a new chief who is incompetent and verbally abusive, firing people left and right, the two of them and Bogomil, being the last ones at the station who were not fired.

Axel starts his investigation at a local gun club, with one of the bullets Bogomil was shot with, where he finds a woman matching the description of the one who shot Bogomil. He enters the lion's den, sort of speak, and the mastermind behind the robberies sends his men to k!ll him.

Always screamed at by their chief, Lutz, Rosewood and Taggart, start working with Axel, and we find out Rosewood loves plants and is a very bad driver!

The movie is directed by Tony Scott and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Again, the movie has the obligatory strip club scene, with the bad stripper, who is dancing badly around the pole, half naked. And the larger than life car chases, this one with a cement truck.

The movie had beautiful colors, better than in the previous one. The movie was also funnier, but it has more vulgar jokes.

Chris Rock has a small role in it. Hugh Hefner makes an appearance too.

The actors were good. I liked Brigitte Nielsen.I liked how she looked, the clothes, the jewelry.

I found the soundtrack bad, worst than the soundtrack of the first movie.

Viewer discretion is advised as the movie contains nudity and vulgar language. On a scale on 1 to 5,it would be a 3.

The movie is streaming on Apple Tv, FuboTv, Netflix, Netflix Basic with Ads, Paramount Plus, Paramount Plus on Amazon Prime Video,AppleTv,and Roku Channel.

Rating : Worth a watch !
