Blood on her name

Year of release : 2019

Run time : 1h24min

Genre : Noir / Thriller / Crime

Cast : Bethany Anne Lind, Will Patton

The movie opens after the fight which led to a man's death. Our lead, Leigh, looks terrified, and tries to figure out what to do. She wants to call the police, but then changes her mind, seeing no one is around.

She wants to drop the body in a lake, but only drops the wrench, and keeps the body in the trunk of the car.

Her son had some problems with the law, and needs to see a probation officer regularly.

When her co-worker asks, she tells him their place was robbed. She doesn't want to call the police, because her father is the sheriff.

She doesn't get along with her father due to something that happened when she was a kid, thing which haunts her, thing she can't forgive him for.

She takes the decision to take the body to his family, and leave him there, thing which worsens everything,as no good deed goes unpunished. Speaking of which, maybe it's not all as it seems, maybe she's just a mother trying to protect her kid.

The movie is good, it pulls you in, and keeps you watching. The score matches the events unfolding, what the lead is going through.

I liked the way the movie was filmed, the way the present blends with the past, her memories and dreams pouring into reality.

The acting was good. The leading actress, Bethany Anne Lind, was magnificent, you can see what she's going through, all the emotions on her face! I'd watch the movie again just to watch her performance! She deserves an Oscar for this role! Will Patton is always a win. Elisabeth Rohm was again, one of the best actors the movie had to offer.

The soundtrack was good.

If it had any visual effects they were good.

The movie is on Hoopla for free, on AMC Theatres on Demand, Freevee, The Roku Channel, and Tubi for free with ads, on Amazon Prime and Amazon Prime Video with Ads for 30 days free; on AppleTv for 7 days free.

Rating : Worth a watch !
