An African American psychiatrist is sentenced to life in jail for murdering his wife. The man keeps on saying he is innocent but nobody believes him.

 

The movie starts with him in solitary,and is told whenever he wants out that that is conditioned upon him signing a confession of murdering his wife.

 

He starts with 90 days in solitary which turn into another 90 and so on.

It seems that they have something against him,and are intent on keeping him alone and confined,especially since there's this woman guardian who seems to hate him and seems to be the architect of his doom .

 

The acting was great, especially coming from the lead, Edi Gathegi, he really captured the feelings grabbing a person in confinement, the depression, the slowly creeping in madness,not knowing what's real or not,night or day,having no one to talk to. He really looked scared,lost, alone,mad,not knowing if to trust his mind or not.

 

As he is in solitary we take a dive into his mind and see the scene,the deed he is accused of,and how his mind starts to play tricks on him,twisting the reality,making him believe things which never happened.

 

The visual effects are good, at first they seemed as if a drawing, but after got really good.

 

One thing I couldn't understand was how could a woman be a guard in a male prison,there's so many things that could go wrong,an inmate could escape or close to it and take her hostage,women are not as strong as men are..
