College road trip

Year of release : 2008

Run time : 1h23min

Genre : Comedy / Road Trip / Musical

Cast : Martin Lawrence

Martin Lawrence plays an overbearing father, who planned his daughter's life out. He wants her to go to a college 28 minutes away from home, so he can have his eye on her.

His daughter has other plans, as she wants to go to Georgetown.

As she is accepted in Georgetown, he plans a college road trip, and takes her to Northwestern first, the college of his choosing. Where he hires a hot officer who works for him to hit on her, and other co-workers to pretend they went to Georgetown and they had a bad experience, being badly wounded, and all.

His daughter sees right through this, and after a car accident, they have to ask people they meet on the road for help, hitching a ride.

The acting was mostly bad, except for Martin Lawrence and a few others. In the first half an hour, except for Lawrence, everybody was overacting. After,it was mostly the actress who plays his daughter who to me was just awful, always overacting.

I didn't like the plot either, as everything was just going from worse to worst,as if this was a movie with teenagers in the lead, not a father and daughter.

There's also a lot of singing or karaoke, which I hate.

I personally hated the movie. After I watched it, I felt like watching another,as this was exhausting.

The movie is streaming on Disney Plus, and is for rent or sale on Amazon, AMC on Demand, Apple, Google, Redbox.
