Gru is a criminal mastermind with an army of minions working for him. He prides himself with stealing some landmarks from..Las Vegas, while other big shot villains steal real landmarks like the pyramids.
Deciding he has to be the best in the criminal world, he sets his mind on stealing the moon, and asks his mad scientist, dr. Nefario, to create something which will shrink it.
He's trying to get a loan from the Bank of Evil, but the president wants to see with what is he gonna steal it,first.
There's a new super villain in town, Vector, who steals not just land marks, but inventions also. So Gru decides to steal Vector's shrinking beam ,as Vector stole it from him, after Grue stole it from the Asian scientists.
Being unable to penetrate Vector's fortress, he has the idea of adopting the three little girls who are selling cookies to Vector, as they are the only ones he lets in.
Although at first he doesn't want to have anything to do with them, the little ones grow on Gru pretty fast, and he gets pretty attached to them.
This is a moving story about growth. I honestly liked how the character Gru grew once he adopted the girls, how they changed him,and his mean dog, and how when they left everyone missed them. He's trying to pretend he doesn't care for them, that he hasn't been moved by their innocence, but it's too late. When Vector kidnaps them, Gru goes after him, to save them.
The animation has heart, growth, action, comedy,it's a fun movie to watch (as long as you suspend your disbelief).
The voice actors were great and Steve Carell was funny.
The soundtrack was good.
The animation is 30 days free on Amazon Prime, with subscription (is leaving in 7 days) on Netflix and Netflix Basic with Ads, for rent / sale on Amazon, AppleTv, Fandango at Home.
Rating : Worth a watch !
