The movie opens with Anita and Elias meeting at a bar. Going outside to smoke, Elias follows her, and they end up going home together. Elias tells her he is a climate change scientist, and he’s been obsessed with a fracture into the ocean floor which might bring the end of the world.

Anita is an aspiring singer, and all she wants is to be happy.

They start dating, although Elias is distant, and likes to be alone with his science projects.

Anita gets pregnant, and Elias is asking her to get an abortion as he got the chance of the lifetime to go to the institute of Massachusetts,USA, to train.

Anita wants to live her life, while he’s consumed with work and the faith of the world.

15 years later, Elias is a submersible pilot, and is going on his first mission to the bottom of the ocean with another pilot, in order to check the fracture and what it’s all about.

When they get closer to it, he gets flashes of Anita, whom he hasn’t seen in 15 years.

As fate would have it, after a night out with his friends, upon his return, he sees Anita singing at the bar/club. They end up talking, catching up with what’s been happening in their lives since the separation. Elias is trying to get some, but Anita tells him she has a new life now.

The next time he goes to the bottom of the ocean he sees visions of what his life could have been had he chosen Anita and their son, when his second pilot is swallowed by the fracture, which seems to be a crack in time,maybe a portal into a parallel universe.

Elias goes to Anita’s concert, and realizes she has a son, and that he probably is his. When he confronts her about it, she admits Lucas (a name that he said he liked and he would have chosen for his son) is his. But Lucas thinks another man, that he’s known his whole life, is his father.

Elias wants to get back into Anita’s life, and wants to tell his son the truth, but what if it’s too late?

I personally enjoyed the movie. It’s a romantic drama laced with science fiction. Elias chooses his career over the woman he loves, and ends up regretting it, wondering what would have happened if he chose her instead of his work.

Elias was distant and cold, he didn’t even go with her to the doctor’s whenever she had appointments, including when he asked her to get an abortion. He then just lets her go ,when he leaves for the USA. If he loved her he would have taken her with him.

Anita seems to be the heart of the story, and if I were her, I wouldn’t have given him the time of day, after how he left her.

I liked the way the movie looked, the colors, the places where they filmed.

The movie has 3 chapters: Young Forever, The Core, Forever.

The actors were good. I liked that the “older” actors looked like the young ones. Danish singer Oh Land plays the older Anita.

The soundtrack was good.

The visual effects were good.
