Year of release : 1984

The movie is adapted from Stephen King's 1980 book of the same name.

I wanted to watch this after I watched the remake, see which one is better. I should have listened to the reviewer who talked about both movies on YouTube!

So,here it goes:

The remake doesn't have much to do with the original.

A couple who participated in a medical experiment, due to lack of money, to gain special abilities, have a daughter with pyrokinetic abilities.

The movie starts with the father and daughter already on the run, closely followed by the Shop. We see what happened to them, and how it all started through the father's flashbacks as he sleeps.

The acting was bad,the music - bad,to me it felt it didn't match what the movie was about.

The scenes ,especially at the beginning, don't merge, don't flow into one another. At the beginning it's established the mother can read minds and the father can control them, this is how we find out they are poor. The mother only appears for a few minutes,in a few short scenes.

They need money but they have a Summer cottage!

At first Charlie, the little girl, can tell when The Shop is coming after them and read their minds / intentions, then she doesn't, when the exterminator agent comes after them.

The assassin -actually an agent called exterminator - has more power within the agency ,as he is allowed to take decisions regarding the girl and implement them. His eye patch used to gain sympathy from Charlie, is coming and going ,as he forgot to wear it near Charlie in one scene, and Charlie didn't notice! So no harm done!

Rating : Coulda woulda shoulda! , 'cause I'm feeling generous
