Mr. Preest is a vigilante in Meanwhile City,a comic book-like world, where everybody is legally forced to have a religion. Preest is an atheist, who discovers that his enemy, The Individual, has kidnapped a 10 year old girl. He is captured while looking for her, and 4 years later he is promised to be released if he helps them with a case. They try to implant a tracking device into him,and he manages to escape them.

Emilia is an art student who has problems with her mother, as she doesn't feel seen, so she keeps on attempting su!cid3, to get mother's attention. She films her attempts and even conversations with people, which makes her difficult and unpredictable.

A religious man, Peter, is looking for his son who developed mental problems after returning from the war.

Milo broke up with his fiance, and starts seeing his childhood friend, Sally, who looks just like Emilia, with red hair. When he tells that to his mother, she tells him Sally doesn't exist.

I don't know why the movie is named Franklyn,I know it's Emilia's last name, or at least the name her buzzer has.

The movie has these 4 leads, the masked vigilante, the troubled artist, the romantic dreamer and the father looking for his son. 3 characters have mental problems in common, as Preest lives in a world of his own, completely dissociated from reality, Emilia keeps on trying to k1ll herself, while Milo sees a girl who doesn't exist.

Preest looked like Rorschach from Watchmen.

I personally liked the movie, what kept me watching was the mystery behind why Sally looked just like Emilia, and the conclusion, which to me is about soulmates destined to meet, forces beyond our comprehension trying to bring them together ( the two characters, the janitor and the entity looking like Emilia, both disappear after they meet, and Sally even says something along the lines " can't you feel it?It's nearly time.")

I liked the futuristic comic book world of Preest, with the architecture and outfits. We find out his vision of reality is triggered by his father's belief that what happened to his little sister was God's will. I liked his speech about God.

The actors were good.

The visual effects were good.

The soundtrack was good.
