The Gecko brothers are on the run from the Texas police and FBI after a crime spree. The movie starts with them destroying a store, after Richie, who seems off his rocker, thinks the man behind the counter gave signals to the police officer.

They take a woman hostage, but she doesn't stay alive for too long, as Richie is a s3x offender, among other things.

A family of three are on a road trip, after the father, who was a pastor, lost his faith, and can't believe or love God anymore, after a series of bad things happened to his family.

Their paths cross, as the Geckos want to cross the border to Mexico, and take them hostage.

I liked the movie until it turned into a vampire movie, then it lost me,for some unknown reason, 'cause I love vampire movies.

I really liked the dialogue, as I found it witty, interesting, engaging.

The actors were great. Cheech Marin plays three different characters. Salma Hayek looked great,my favorite part of the movie was her dance scene.

The visual effects were good for 1996,and not bad for today, as they involve a lot of prosthetics.

Viewer discretion is advised, as the movie contains nudity and explicit language.

The movie is streaming on HBO Max, HBO Max Amazon Channel, DirecTv, and is for rent or sale on Apple, DirecTv, Google, Redbox, Vudu, YouTube.

Rating : Could have been a contender !
