Max and Annie are big movie fans, weekly having game nights. They are such big fans they met,got engaged and married during charades.
They want to have a baby,but Max seems to be having problems due to his successful brother's shadow always hanging over him.
The night the movie starts, they try to hide the fact they have a game night with the usual suspects,from their police officer neighbor who is divorcing their friend, Debbie.
Their guests,a couple who've been together since they were 14, and a womanizer who's new date always makes him lose the game, come through the windows, as they told them to hide from the police officer. Max's brother though, who probably likes to push his buttons, makes a big entrance,parading his car (Max's dream car),and being loud about their game night.
After playing charades, Max's brother invites them all to his place for the next week's charades. Their womanizer friend brings a new date,who's older and smart.
Brooks reveals he hired a company which deals with interactive role-playing mystery games,and the winner will get his Stingray Corvette. While waiting, they play 'Never have I ever' and the man who's been dating his wife since they were 14, finds out she slept with a celebrity. Thing which is gonna bother him the whole night, always coming back to it.
While the man from the company presents them the role playing mystery game, masked men break through the door, knock him out, and fight Brooks. His guests think it's all scripted and just sit and watch,as they beat him up and kidnap him.
They decide to start playing the game,and Max and Annie decide to track Brooks' phone. The womanizer and his date decide to find the company and pay them to give them the right answer.
Max reveals the brother is not the problem,he's afraid to have kids for he thinks he won't have fun anymore.
When Max and Annie find and rescue Brooks,they find out his brother was kidnapped for real,and he's not as successful as he led them to believe,being a bit of a criminal.
The movie reminded me of the movie The Lovebirds. It's action packed, and funny,I think I laughed most of the time.
The actors were great. Michael C. Hall, Jeffrey Wright and Danny Huston make -more or less of- a cameo.
A bit of movie trivia, 'Denzel' was played by Malcolm X. Hughes, a part-time Denzel Washington impersonator.
The soundtrack was good.
