The movie is written, directed and produced by Quentin Tarantino, who is also the director of photography, and is part of a double feature entitled Grindhouse ,which pays homage to the 70's and 80's exploitation double features. I personally watched Planet Terror first, and realized the order is,this movie first.

Death Proof follows three girlfriends who go to one of their parents' cabin, but on the way there, stop at a bar. One of them is a famous radio show host.

There, they meet Stuntman Mike who wants a lap dance from one of them,as the radio host said on air if a man approached her friend saying certain lines, she'd have to do it. Although hesitant at first, the woman gives him a lap dance.

Stuntman Mike leaves with a woman who wanted a ride, and explains to her, his car is used in movies,it's called Death Proof,as it's supposed to protect the people inside from a crash.

The woman still wants a ride, although the side of the car where she has to sit looks like something out of a horror movie. I don't understand why couldn't she take a cab, subway or the bus?It looked like they were still in town, not outside it!

Needless to say,Stuntman Mike creates an accident and kills his co-pilot,and then goes after the three girls, now four, driving with his lights out.

A year and a few months later, Stuntman Mike finds himself new preys, copycats of the previous group of friends. Just that, this time,he's in for the ride of his life.

The movie was tampered with to look old and sometimes the video skips and the audio repeats itself, quirks I actually liked!

When the 2nd part starts, introducing a new town,Lebanon,Tennesse, the color goes to black and white, and when it comes back up again, everything is so vivid,so full of color!

What I didn't like were the long conversations about nothing. The women were vulgar, and I can tell you for sure,me and my friends don't talk like that,or about such issues!

Also, they drink and get high too much !At the end of the night,I was surprised they were still standing!

I think if these long conversations(especially the ones from the second part) were cut shorter,or some of them cut out completely, the movie would have been better! After not even an hour I was bored !!

The weak link was the 2nd part of the movie with the 2nd group of girls.

The only things I truly liked were the action scenes, first of them starting around the 49 minute marker, lasting for about a minute, shot from each and every character's perspective, then the 1:30 marker which was longer.

Some of the characters from Planet Terror appear in this one, like doctor Block and her father, and even characters from Kill Bill make an appearance, like doctor Block's father, and son number one.

Some of the actors from Planet Terror appear in this one as a different character, like Rose McGowan and Quentin Tarantino.

The acting was great. I thought everybody involved, except maybe for Zoe Bell, gave 100%.

The soundtrack was good, it has old music.

Viewer discretion is advised,as the movie contains explicit language.

The movie is streaming on Tubi Tv, and is for rent / sale on Amazon Prime, Apple Tv, DirecTv, Google Play Movies, Redbox, Vudu, YouTube.

Rating : Could have been a contender !
