Scott Voss is a 42 year old jaded Biology teacher .He doesn't have passion for his job anymore, is always late for class, to the point the principle is always threatening him with taking a day from his vacation,if he keeps on doing it,and passes his duties (as the school's bus driver ) to one of his colleagues and friends ,the music teacher, Marty.

Scott is always asking the school nurse out, but she always refuses.

Just when Marty finds out his 48 year old wife is pregnant, the principle is informing him they don't have the budget for the music class,so they'll have to let him go.

Scott feels bad for him, and decides to help. He takes another job as an English teacher for the people who want a visa, and there he meets a man who gets him interested in wrestling ( after he finds out even if he loses he gets 10.000 dollars, the winner getting 50.000 dollars).

The man decides to help him,train him and find men who can train him, as long as he can help him study for the citizenship tests.

Scott thinks he can wrestle as he used to, for like, 2 weeks, in school.

Scott has a good character arc,he goes from not caring, to getting involved, making more friends, helping his friend,who's also jaded about his life, his job,as he's trying to raise 5 kids with his wife.

 

He goes from not carrying about his students, to becoming a cool teacher who has fun classes, helping his best student's father find a good chef (the friend I was talking about) so she could enjoy being a teenager,instead of working for him at the restaurant. He goes from having,not so many friends, to getting the whole school care for him, even the nurse he is interested in, accepting to go out with him.

I didn't like the fight scenes, as they are wrestling, boxing, and I don't like it when people get beaten up (which he does, most of the time ).

The actors were good, they delivered funny lines.

The soundtrack was good. The name of the movie comes from the song Scott chooses,'Boom' by POD, as he says he brings the boom.
