The movie was written and directed by the Duffer Brothers in their directorial debut.

Ray, Claire and their daughter, Zoe, are living in an underground bunker since a virus outbreak, 301 days ago.

The movie opens with Zoe, who wakes up after having a nightmare about the breathers finding their hiding place. The family lives in the dark, with little to no water, and with rations of food.

They play card games and board games from the stash they found in the bunker.

One day Zoe discovers most of their food rations were eaten by mice. When they finally find the mouse, a fire breaks out from their broken flashlight, as they try to k1ll it.

The smoke goes out through the ventilation system, and the parents go outside to check for ashes of the fire, so the breathers wouldn’t find them.

Back inside, they hear footsteps, and hear the breathers. In little to no time, their door is shaken to the point the heavy chains holding it down and in place break out of the walls.

I personally enjoyed the movie. The family is on survival mode, and we do not know much about their life before or what had happened, just that, one day their neighbours were in a hurry to leave, and they tell them about the outbreak. As they try to leave, they are turned back, and the military b0mbs their town! They seek shelter in the school bunker, and that’s where they lived for the past 301 days.

Because they live in the dark with only a candle or a flash light on, it’s dark most of the time, except for the reminiscing scenes.

I liked the twist at the end, where we find out why they call the ones who want them dead, breathers. Due to the sound SPOILERS their masks make.

I also liked the transition from something that happens in the present, which reminds them of something from the past. Like the smoke of the fire, reminding them of how they burnt the bacon when they found out about the outbreak.

The acting was good.

The soundtrack was good.

The visual effects were good.

Hidden holds a 6.3 rating on IMDB, and a 83% tomato meter against a 62% popcorn meter on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie grossed only a little over 310.000 dollars at the box office due to its limited release, and was released 3 years after it was filmed.
