The animation is the first of the monster comedy franchise, which includes 4 animated movies, animated tv series, 3 short films and even video games!

Count Dracula has a hotel for monsters where they can safely come and have fun,away from the world which hates them and tries to kill them.

 

118 years later,his daughter turns 118 and he throws her a big birthday party. Mavis' dream is to see the world,but the count is afraid for her safety so he builds a village helped by the zombies to scare her out of this idea,to make her think humans are bad.

 

Due to this "event", farse, he played on his daughter,a human ends up at their hotel,and the count,although does his best to get him out of there,becomes pretty close to him.

Also,Mavis falls in love with him,in a thing they call zing,meaning the once in a life time great love.

 

The movie was funny,and entertaining. I liked it.

The acting was good,so was the visual.

I didn't quite like the music,but that is not my kind of music,so maybe that was the reason why. Although, I thought some songs were inappropriate for children.

The animation was a success, grossing 358.4 million dollars at the box office,against a budget of 85 million, and receiving a Golden Globe nomination for Best Animated Film.
