Shawn is waking up her man in the morning, and he freaks out as he is married, and slept over at her place again, and doesn’t know how to save face with the wife. Shawn enters the bathroom ready to sl1t her wrists with the raz0r blade, as they talk through the closed door, as she wants him to tell his wife the truth, and he keeps on postponing it.
After calling her father, who blows her off because his new born baby didn’t sleep all night, due to gas,she picks all of her man’s things, and at work, she tells a couple who want a bank loan to buy a house that the loan could ruin their lives. After she ruins these peple’s day,she gives her man the bag with his things, breaking up with him.As they talk, his wife comes in, and Shawn sees she’s pregnant.Shawn has been dating this man for a year. So she takes a bottle of vodka and goes to the rooftop of the bank.
Charlie and two of his friends get ready to r0b a bank.Guess which one! You guessed!
Shawn is thinking about jumping, and while she is trying to build the courage, a man from the building in front of hers, calls the police, seeing her.
Charlie and an older friend r0b her man as he walks out with the money he’s supposed to give to the employees who come to pick up the bank’s money, punching him in the nose, and hearing the police car’s siren, enter the bank.
Trying to make a run for it, the one with the money walks out right into the police’s arms, and they sho0t him, catching him, after he put the money in the getaway car. Their other friend, who was waiting in the car for them drives off with the money.
Charlie runs to the rooftop chased by the police, and walks in on Shawn, while trying to jump, taking her off the railing. He puts the g@n to her head, telling her if she moves he’ll k1ll her. Yeah, that’s what she was trying to achieve when you stopped her, genius!
Charlie is trying to scare her by telling her she ruined his plan, and he should k1ll her, while she says, indeed, genius, do it! He tries to make a deal with her, help him escape the cops and he’ll k1ll her after. Shawn feels sorry for him, and agrees.
Charlie is asking Shawn to jump one floor down with him, and she finally agrees (she jumped in heels and she was fine!), after which they manage to get out of the bank with him stealing a woman’s coat and car that Shawn has to drive but can’t, get in a meat truck, and run through the city (in heels again!). When they finally stop, Charlie refuses to k1ll her and leaves. He comes back right away, saving her from walking in front of an incoming tram.
The detectives assigned to the case talk to the bank’s vice president who happens to be Shawn’s ex. He pretends he doesn’t know Shawn, even when they make a sketch of her, and soon it becomes obvious he is involved in the robbery.
The movie started well, but it lost my interest gradually, to the point, after an hour I didn’t care about it anymore. Ironically, this was a movie I looked for for years, as I watched it about 20 years ago on HBO and liked it!
The action of the movie takes place in 24 hours, and starts early in the morning.
One of the detectives on the case knows too much about su1cidals and I liked the information he gave and the reason he knew this much, at the end.
Shawn seems to be a very sad and lonely girl, who might have these su1cidal thoughts due to her upbringing, to her parents’ divorce, her mother becoming lethargic after the divorce, her having to take care of her, her father not caring about her, always complaining about how much money he had to pay for her upbringing in alimony, and the choice in men, which probably came from how she saw herself due to her childhood trauma.
Charlie has problems of his own, as he has a baby momma who didn’t wait for him when he was in jail.
The friend who drove off with the money has women trouble, as he’s in love with a stripper who only loves his money.
The actors were good. Speaking of which, the director also plays Shawn’s step mother.
The soundtrack was so and so, at times was good, like when they were running, and it played breathing sounds, but most of the time it played music which didn’t match.
The movie received mixed reviews, with a 26% approval rating from the critics and a 71% from the audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 34 score on Metacritic.
The movie had a limited release, and allegedly grossed only 5.700 dollars at the box office!
