The movie was conceived in the mid 2000's by Rian Johnson who was inspired by the Agatha Christie based movies.
Famous detective Benoit Blanc is hired to solve the murder of famous mystery book writer Harlan Thrombey. His family attended his 85th anniversary, and the next morning, his housekeeper found him dead. The police detectives think he committed suicide, as he has a slit throat, but detective Blanc,who was hired anonymously, thinks he was murdered, after they interviewed the family,as they all had a reason to k1ll him.
We get to see what really happened, and discover the nurse, Marta, injected him with a high dose of morphine, when she gave him his medication, after the party. Upon finding out, he instructed her what to do to get away with it.
Knowing Marta can't lie because she throws up, Blanc asks her to help him with the investigation, so she hides the evidence against her.
At the reading of the last will and testament, the family find out their father/grandfather, left everything to Marta, a stranger!
The movie was interesting, but the writer is obsessed with the woke culture which is the downfall of Hollywood, and he keeps on putting it in his movies. Once again, the characters keep on going at it, calling the kid who's a conservative, a na$i. They also talk about how illegal immigration should be fine, 'cause that's how you build a country (considering the one who's for it is the one who never had a job and leeches off the old man,that says a lot!)! And that explains why the old man left his whole fortune to the illegal immigrant nurse who took care of him for a while, and almost k1lled him.
Most of the characters are unlikeable, starting with Harlan and ending with Marta!
I didn't find it fair for a poor nurse who didn't work for it, to get all the fortune of this mad man, I also don't think that in real life someone who realizes he might have been poisoned by accident by his nurse would try to make sure she gets away with it!
The old man came across as an awful father and grandfather, leaving his whole fortune to the nurse,cutting out his own family, and his kids' children! I understand that some of them were leeches, but that doesn't make it fine to leave everything to a nurse just because she was poor!
The actors were all fine. Chris Evans looked very pale for some unknown reason.
I didn't like the classical soundtrack.
I liked one thing, the house was beautiful, inside and out!
