The Neo Noir Thriller was written and directed by Todd Robinson. The movie is based on the famous "Lonely Hearts k1llers" who went on a k1lling spree in the 1940's , Martha Beck and Raymond Fernandez.

 

Detective Robinson is working a desk job ever since his wife k1lled herself, being haunted by this, not knowing why she did it, as people always have a reason. The supposed suicide of a young woman gets him interested in the field jobs again, as he thinks there's more to it, considering the woman had everything to live for.

Raymond Fernandez is a con man who cons rich women through the personal Lonely Hearts ads. On one of his dates, he meets Martha Beck. After spending the night with her, he wants to steal her money, but her purse only has a 20 dollars check for unemployment,which he steals.

He sees an article in the newspaper about a magnate dying, and he goes to the funeral, trying to get underneath the widow's skin, but unluckily for him, her son is there, sending him away. Martha shows up pretending to be Raymond's wife, trying to save his face. From then on, they're inseparable, conning women. Problem is, Martha is jealous, and can't stand to see him with another woman, so she k1lls them, or makes him k1ll them.

Detective Robinson is hot on his tracks, although his partner thinks he's lost his mind.

I personally enjoyed the movie. It blends the story of the unhinged k1llers with the story of the detectives trying to solve the cases, and the lead detective, Robinson who 3 years later, is still haunted by the death of his wife. Robinson has a new relationship he is afraid to make public, due to what his son might think.

The actors were good.

 

I didn't care for the soundtrack.

The movie received mixed reviews, and grossed around 2.5 million dollars, against a budget of 18 million.

Viewer discretion is advised, as the movie contains nudity, mature language and content, and violent scenes.
