MaXXXine is a horror movie written, directed, produced and edited by Ti West, and is the 3d installment in West's X series , after X, and Pearl, both released in 2022,being a direct sequel to the X movie.
It's 1985, the Night Stalker is making the news, as the latest serial k1ller in the USA.
Maxine Minx auditions for the lead in the horror movie, The Puritan II, and gets the lead,as she gave a great performance. The director said she had to fight for her, as the producers didn't want a former p0rn star as their lead, or even in their movie.
Maxine still works as a p0rn star, to make money, and also at a live peep show, late at night.
She has a few friends and co-workers who invite her to parties she refuses to go due to her jobs, and later finds out they were murd3red!
The police think it's the Night Stalker, due to the satanic themes, but they also have their eyes on her, as she knew the latest victims.
Maxine receives a tape of her, with which she is being blackmailed, and a private investigator is following her, giving her a hard time. She tells about this ordeal to her agent, who helps her get rid of the investigator.
Maxine understands the only way to make this go away is to confront her demons, so she decides to go to the house depicted on the tape she received.
The movie was entertaining, it really sinks you into the vibe of the '80's with the music, the clothes, the news, the buildings..one thing I didn't like about it, was her addiction.
The movie made 22 million dollars worldwide, being the highest grossing movie of the series.
The visual effects were good.
The acting was good from everyone involved.
The soundtrack was good, the songs of the '80's chosen for the soundtrack were great!
MaXXXine is 7 days free on AppleTv+, for rent on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTv, FlixFling, Spectrum, and for sale on Amazon, AppleTv.
