The movie is said to be based on the true story of Alex Kurtzman,who directed and co-wrote the movie.

Sam is a struggling corporate trader in New York, who might have violated a few federal laws,and is facing a Federal Trade Commission investigation,so his boss tells him to bribe the officials.

When he gets home, his girlfriend tells him his father,whom he didn't talk to for years,has died.

Sam doesn't really want to go to the funeral, so he hides his ID in the car. They still end up going, for his girlfriend finds his wallet with everything in it.

They miss the funeral, and the next day, his father's lawyer gives him his shaving kit filled with money, 150.000 dollars,with a note ,giving the name and address of the one he's supposed to give it to.

Sam starts investigating, and finds a woman with a troubled kid, who just blew up the school's pool.

He befriends the woman trying to find out if she was his father's mistress,and finds out she is his sister. He takes his time, helping out,befriending the kid,giving him music and life advice, and the woman thinks he might have feelings for her.

 

From the accounts of everyone, the lawyer, the mother, the sister, the father was an awful person.

 

I personally enjoyed the movie, it didn't bore me. I didn't understand why he didn't tell his sister who he was from the getgo,misleading her,as the way he acted, came across as him being interested in her.I thought her reaction when finding out was over the top, but she was right to be shocked and outraged,finding out he spent all that time with her and her son, knowing they were related, while not telling them about it.

The boys in this movie,for some unknown reason had long hair, those ugly haircuts from the '70's.

On Google the movie is listed as an action comedy, which the movie isn't ,but it's an entertaining drama.

The actors were good. Jon Favreau makes a cameo appearance at the beginning of the movie, as the boss.

The soundtrack was good, I liked the songs played.

The movie is for rent / sale on Amazon Prime Video.
