Lili is waiting for Eduardo on their first date and is texting her friend, telling her she's been waiting for 35 minutes and he's a no show.
He finally arrives and tells her he was mugged and lost his phone. She decides to buy the ticket to the art gallery they visit to make him feel better. In return,he offers to cook for her at his place.
The man drugs her, ties her up after she passes out and takes her upstairs, in a padded room.
The movie has a few really good plot twists.
The movie was shot in one single take with no cuts, in black and white. For 50 minutes there's no music, no soundtrack.
The actors were great! Most of the time, for an hour and nine minutes it's just the two of them.
I kept on thinking how many times they must have rehearsed, having to know all their lines and positions by heart, just like in theatre! These actors really deserve an Oscar!
I can't express how much Eduardo frustrated me! She kept on calling him 'tonto', before him slipping something into her drink, and she was right,he was stupid! SPOILERS He answers the door when he keeps her tied up upstairs! Not just that,he leaves the door to the room, opened!! He lets these kids get in and talks to them, giving them the drinks they wanted!!! He then answers the phone when a friend calls when he is right next to her!! Who does that? What kind of self respecting k!ller does all these things?!
The movie is streaming on DirecTv, HBO Max, The Roku Channel, and is for rent or sale on Amazon, Apple, Google, Vudu, YouTube.
Rating : Worth a watch !
