The movie was released as "6 souls" in the USA.

The movie opens with psychologist Cara Harding giving a statement to the prosecutors about the state of mind of a r@p1st and k1ller, her statement leading the state of Missouri to execute the man by lethal injection.

Once home, her father introduces her to a new case. After interviewing David,who's in a wheelchair, her father calls him from the other room,in Cara's presence. Asking for Adam. The patient seems to have a seizure, and after it stops, Adam comes through. And he can walk. He is also red deficient color blind.

Cara thinks it's just another case of multiple personalities disorder, and starts investigating Adam and David, trying to prove her point.

She finds David's mother, a religious woman, who tells her David was murdered by witches. Now Cara thinks Adam heard the story on the news when he was just a child, as David was murdered in 1980.

 

Trying to make David snap out of it, she takes him to the place he was murdered, and he has a panic attack, talking about a man who was coming to k1ll him. Calling the male nurse to help her with his wheelchair, as she can't move it, David is right in front of her when she turns away, saying his name is Wes. Cara discovers Wes was a rocker who was believed to have k1lled himself.

At the same time we learn about Cara and her family, as her husband was k1lled 3 years before on Christmas Eve as they were leaving church. She still believes in God, she even wears a cross, while her daughter and father don't anymore.

At the same time we meet Adam and David, who ask everyone about their faith. We see the people who were in contact with him get sick with something which seems to have flu-like symptoms, after which they die.

I personally enjoyed the movie, it's one of my favorites from years ago, when it was released. It has an eerie atmosphere, and as the story develops you're wondering what is actually going on. Each character has it's own personality, it's own story, and is well defined.

SPOILERS Although the villain of the movie is supposed to be Adam / David, to me the true villain was the witch, who cursed him, because by torturing him like this (for taking her clientele), they were hurting and k1lling innocent people. She also didn't want to help the little girl because she didn't have faith! Her curse was so evil, that if he died, it didn't end with him, it just went on and on, with the new victim! The witch was centuries old, and so was the man she placed the curse on (it's been a 100 years since the curse! So I guess she made him immortal.)! END OF SPOILERS

The actors were great, especially Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who played more characters, and had to change the tone.

The visual effects were good.

The soundtrack, by John Frizzell, was good.

The movie received negative reviews, with a 7% score on Rotten Tomatoes, grossing only 3.2 million dollars against a budget of 22 million.
