The scientists send out transmissions during the SETI program, with information about earth and its inhabitants,the solar system,and so on, hoping to find life forms. They receive transmissions from some alien source, with information about how to create limitless fuel, and alien DNA samples with instructions on how to splice it with human DNA.

They decide to create a female, to be more docile, and name her Sil. The alien / human hybrid grows very fast, reaching the age of 12 years old in 3 months.

Because when she was in REM sleep her body seemed to be changing, they decided to k1ll her, in fear of what she might become and do. Just that when they wanted to do it, she escaped the lab.

In fear she might start reproducing, the government hire an anthropologist, a molecular biologist, an empath, and a black operations mercenary to track her and eventually k1ll her.

Sil manages to take a train by stealing other people's belongings, then stealing from another train's restaurant. Her body starts changing, and she is morphing into a cocoon, and when she comes out of it, she is a 20 year old woman.

She has weird dreams about finding a mate, so after she gets a hotel room with stolen money and credit card, she goes to a club, trying to find a man. She finds a man who is literally taken from her by a drunk woman, whom she follows and k1lls for she saw her as competition.

She finds another man, but she senses he is sick, so she loses interest in him, but he refuses to let her go, so she k1lls him.

The team are always one step behind her, as wherever she goes, she leaves a trail of bodies.

She sleeps in the car and has dreams again, of her species. She wakes up, and being out of gas ( she somehow knows how to drive just because she saw the guy earlier, drive!) she leaves the car, being hit by another, as she was standing in the middle of the road.

A good Samaritan takes her to the hospital, and pays for her hospital fees. She heals rapidly, before her doctors' eyes, and leaves with the man who helped her.

At his place, they take it to the next level, and because she wants to get down to business, and he wants to take it slow, especially since the government is knocking on his door, she k1lls him and runs away, but stalks the place, getting information on the government team, thinking of how to trick them.

I personally enjoyed the movie, but it's hypersexualized, thing the critics of the time complained about too. All Sil does is try to find a mate to mate with. She is always naked. When she dreams it seems the dreams are of the same nature, but between her species.

The acting was good.

Michelle Williams has a small role as Sil when she was young.

The visual effects were good, the creature was created by H.R. Giger, who created the aliens in the Alien franchise.

The soundtrack was good, I liked the music of the '90's they played.

The movie received mixed reviews, with Cinema Score audiences grading the movie a B-.

The movie grossed 113.3 million dollars at the box office, against a budget of 35 million, being a hit.

The movie has a theatrical sequel, and two more made for tv, plus a novel by Yvonne Navarro, and two comic book series released by Dark Horse Comics.

Viewer discretion is advised, as the movie contains a lot of nudity, mostly from Natasha Henstridge, who plays Sil.
