Spell was written by Kurt Wimmer who wrote and directed Equilibrium and Ultraviolet! I love the action scenes in those movies and Equilibrium is one of my favorite movies of all time.

The movie is about a successful lawyer who has to go back to his childhood home in Appalachia,an area known for practicing magic, as his father died.

He's very smart,he can pilot his own plane,he made a good life for himself and his family.

They have to stop for fuel at this remote location and they have this weird interaction with these two people,the father with an old man and the son with a young man who seem to just dislike them.

A storm starts and the next thing he knows is waking up in the attic of a woman who refuses to give him information about himself or his family.

Shortly after,the woman comes with a doll of him,telling him that whatever happens to the doll happens to him,but he doesn't believe that.

I loved the acting,it felt so natural,it flows. Everybody was great,especially the two leads Omari Hardwick and Loretta Devine .
