Spider Man is a superhero movie based on the Marvel comics character of the same name. "Far from home" is the sequel to Homecoming (2017), and the 23d movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
The movie opens with Nick Fury and Maria Hill who investigate what's left of Ixtenco ,Mexico, after a natural disaster. They find out from Quentin Beck, a man with super powers from another version of earth, that that was the makings of an Earth Elemental. After he defeats the creature they recruit him to their team.
In New York, where Peter Parker is, the Midtown School of Science and Technology ends the year, with the students which disappeared due to Thanos' actions, 5 years prior.
After an In Memoriam dedicated to the Avengers who defeated Thanos and brought back the students who disappeared, Peter and students from his school go on a 2 week trip to Europe.
Peter has a crush on MJ now, and wants to give her a Black Dahlia, knowing is her favorite flower, and that also she's into the crime which took place, named exactly the same..
He doesn't want to have anything to do with fighting crime, so he refuses to take his Spider Man suit with him (that his aunt May packs for him), and to answer Nick Fury's persistent call.
Happy likes him now, as he seems to like his aunt even more.
In Venice, Peter is upset MJ was paired on the airplane with one of the reappeared and seems to be spending time with him now, and on top of that, an Elemental appears, wreaking havoc through the city. Once again, Quentin Beck comes and saves the day.
A very upset Nick Fury finally talks to Peter, and gives him the AI glasses Tony Stark left for him, named EDITH.
After another Elemental appears in Prague, Peter decides the glasses should go to Beck, as he thinks him worthy.
After he leaves, we find out Beck is a disgruntled Stark former employee, and him and other disgruntled former employees, are behind all the elemental sightings and devastation.
Will Peter find out in time what Beck and his friends are plotting? And will he and Nick Fury be able to stop them?
I personally enjoyed the movie, it was action packed, funny, the characters are likeable.
Peter actually gets close to Beck, I think, in a way, he takes Tony Stark's place in Peter's life, as I think he sees in him what Tony was to him. They seem to bond, and then we find out Beck was only playing Peter, who's only 16 years old.
Peter also tries to find a way to ask MJ out, and I don't know why he finds it so hard, as it's obvious since the previous Spider Man, MJ was into him.
The movie is called "Far from home" because the action takes place in Europe, in Venice, Prague, Berlin and London, the cities Peter and his classmates visit.
The actors were good and likeable. My favorite kinda was MJ in this one and the previous one, due to her personality.
The visual effects were good.
The soundtrack was good.
The movie received positive reviews and many nominations, Cinema Score audiences rating it A, on an A+ to F scale.
The movie grossed 1.133 billion dollars, against a budget of 160 million, being the 1st Spider Man movie to cross the 1 billion mark, being Sony's highest grossing movie, the 4th highest grossing movie of 2019, and the 24th highest grossing movie of all time.
