Baby Doll's mother dies and leaves the fortune to her two daughters. Her step father is not pleased with it, so,after a fight with Baby Doll, which resulted in having her sister killed,he puts Baby Doll in a mental institution and pays the orderly to have her lobotomized.

Baby Doll escapes reality by sinking into a fantasy world,in which she masters martial arts, and along with four other girls, plan to escape the asylum.

The movie is shown only from the perspective of her dream world,in which she is at a brothel ,and the psychiatrist is actually the madam taking care of the girls, under the orderly which is now a sort of pimp lord.

She is supposed to be very good at dancing, although we never see her dance, mesmerizing people while on stage. What we see when she dances is her sinking into the second fantasy world, - so is a dream within a dream - , where, the first time she fights two giants, the second time ,her and the girls have to steal a map from the Nazis, the 3d, a lighter, then a knife.

The first time I watched this movie I really enjoyed it,but the last time it honestly bored me. I should state that I actually watched the extended version, which had an extra scene in which Oscar and Carla sing Grace Jones' "Love is the drug",and a scene with Jon Hamm.

I labeled this movie a musical, because the actors sing in a few scenes, and even when they don't ,it's still them on the soundtrack.

The movie has a great soundtrack, certain scenes are made like a music video.

The visual effects stand the test of time.

The actors were good,except for Emily Browning,whom I thought didn't give 100%.
