Rachel Marron is a famous singer / actress who's latest movie performance grants her an Oscar nomination. Unbeknownst to her, she receives threatening mails and even had her house broken into. Her manager contacts Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent who is known to be the best bodyguard, after a b0mb explodes in her dressing room .

At first Frank refuses, although he is offered 2000 dollars a week, saying he "doesn't do celebrities", but is convinced to see her after her manager tells him she begged him to protect her.

Once he sees her, he realizes she has no idea who he is, and the danger she is actually in. About to quit, seeing she doesn't care for her own well being, he finally accepts to protect her when her manager shows him the treats she received, and hears someone broke into her home, and m@sturb@ted in the bedroom (I loved that room) they lied to a magazine she sleeps in.

He tells them the house is pretty much open for anyone to get in, as it has no security.

Although Frank is doing his best to protect her, her team keeps on working against him, as they don't tell him about her shows, having to find out at the last moment. Her existing bodyguard also hates Frank for "stealing" his spot, although he is very bad at his job, as he doesn't notice they are being followed, raging to Frank about how much he cares for Rachel.

At the show, for some unknown reason, men keep on jumping on stage to dance with her, and pretty soon they all try to jump her, and she falls in the crowd, being rescued by Frank. I find it odd, they know she is threatened, but they have no security!

The next day, Rachel asks Frank out, as she says, even if she goes out on a date with someone, he'll have to be there. While out, she is asking him to dance, to a country song, " I will always love you", which she states is pretty sad. They spend the night together, and the next morning, Frank tells her he can't protect her if he dates her. You'd think he'd do a better job, but anyway!

At a party,Rachel is trying to make him jealous, by hitting on his former colleague and getting into the bedroom with him, but she puts an end to it. The guy was pretty upset about her not wanting to go all the way (red flag).

Frank is letting his frustrations on someone else, and almost quits his job, when her manager tells him her stalker called her pretending to be her son.

Frank tells them if they want him to protect her, they'll have to do things his way.

I personally enjoyed the movie. It felt like a movie based on a romantic book, I can see why it was a hit, probably all the women loved it (and not only, my parents loved it too).

Whitney's character was a bit unlikeable, but it was probably exactly how celebrities are, spoiled and entitled, as in, you can't tell them what to do.

I think the movie should have ended with the scene in which she runs to him getting off the plane and kissing, as the way it ended it looks maybe they're not together anymore.

I liked Whitney's outfits, I didn't like her haircut. I also liked her house, and the places they filmed at.

The song "I will always love you" is a cover her character made of a country song ,at the end of the movie (which makes sense in the context of their relationship). The original was sang by Dolly Parton (1974 single), but in the movie the song is sang by a man. Allegedly Whitney had to pay Dolly 10 million dollars to be able to cover her song!

I didn't quite like how the movie opens and ends, as it looks like a B movie, giving the feeling scenes are missing.

The acting was fine. Kevin Costner always looked sad,and seems to have a Poker Face on the whole movie. Whitney Houston was good, she just couldn't play scared and angry well,as she was smiling the whole time while doing it.

The soundtrack was good, I still loved Whitney's songs, they still sound good today. She had a beautiful voice.

Lawrence Kasdan wrote the movie in the 1970's for Steve McQueen. The movie which inspired this one, Yojimbo (1961 Japanese samurai movie), appears in the movie, as the one our leads watch on their date.

In 1978 Diana Ross was supposed to play Rachel, and Ryan O'Neal the bodyguard.

The movie grossed 411 million dollars at the box office, being the 2nd highest grossing movie of 1992, against a budget of 25 million!

The soundtrack, mostly sang by Whitney Houston (I have it too, her songs were the best!) was the best selling soundtrack of all time! "I will always love you" is still the Best Selling Single of All Time by a Woman!

The movie received negative reviews, and 7 nominations at the Raspberry Awards, including for Worst Movie, Worst Actor for Kevin Costner and Worst Actress for Whitney Houston!

The songs "I have nothing" and "I run to you" were Oscar nominated.

The soundtrack was nominated for 4 Grammys, winning 3, including Album of the Year.

Cinema Score audiences rated the movie a B+.

Kevin Costner wanted to make a sequel with his friend, Princess Diana, which she agreed on!
