Saint Petersburg,1860. A retired officer comes back from his exile and becomes a duelist for hire.

 

Soon,we discover that the circumstances that make the noble men end up in the duel in the first place are shady,and they are all just people in the way of a rich man who wants to achieve certain goals.

Also,that the lead is not whom he says he is,the name he is under belongs to someone else,and he uses it because he was stripped of his noble name by the same man he is working now for(unknowingly),for not wanting to work for him in the first place as a duelist for hire!

 

I love the world they created,the set designs,the places they filmed at or in,palaces or whatever they were, were splendid.

I loved the costumes,the way the movie was shot,the acting..the lead actor is handsome(he has a beautiful face and body..he's now one of my favorites)..the soundtrack was also good.

 

And now what I didn't like,or more like,what didn't vibe with me. SPOILERS The so called love story. I didn't feel the attraction between the two,usually you see it when they meet but it didn't happen.

There's also a scene in a carriage,which due to the era the movie takes place in,the large windows and the lady involved ,is not possible unless her reputation is ruined in the next scene.
