The movie is adapted from the novel with the same name by Graham Greene,published in 1951.

 

"The end of the affair" is the story of a married woman and a writer. She has a marriage of convenience,so it was only a matter of time until she found love in someone who's not her husband.

 

Our writer is very jealous which leads him to believe it's the reason why she left him.

 

The story starts on a rainy night when our writer sees the husband of the woman he had an affair with on the street. The husband believes she cheats so the writer offers to hire a detective.

 

The story is told first from the point of view of the writer, then from hers, through her diary ,so we get to see them through each other's eyes.

 

The acting is great,the story is a beautiful but sad and forbidden romance.

 

This is one of my favorite movies,I cried the whole movie.
