A citizen who had no problems with the law, r0bs a bank, k1lling the security guards and is chased by the police until they catch him when they shoot at his car,as he is coming at them. Even after, he gets out of the car trying to make a get away, but is caught by the police.

He ends up in the hospital with severe burns, and the doctor tells the police he won't make it through the night.

At the hospital, the man wakes up, and chooses the man in the bed next to his. As he is standing above him, we see that an alien creature who inhabits his victims' bodies, is coming out of his mouth, getting into the sleeping man's body, taking over it. He then wakes up and leaves,as its former body collapses on the floor.

Once again, he starts k1lling people left and right, as whenever he sees something he likes, he thinks he is entitled to it. The same detectives come to the scene, and are surprised to find out another good citizen went mad.

An FBI agent, Gallagher, comes to the LAPD offices, giving them vague information about the man he's chasing after, saying the two k1llers worked together, although he seems to know more than he wants to tell.

The alien sees women he likes, but since his body is old, he can't get close to them. He finds his victim's cards in his coat pockets, and ends up at a strip club, where he sets his sights on a stripper, whose body he takes over.

Gallagher and the LAPD detective track him / her down, and find out she already k1lled people, and trying to take her down, the detective sees that she's very hard to k1ll, and that Gallagher uses a weird device on her,but she still gets away.

With Gallagher refusing to tell him what's really going on, the detective puts him in jail, but the alien comes back with a vengeance, taking over one of the police officer's body.

I personally found the movie more interesting than I thought I would. The movie has heart ,through the lead detective and his family,and even Gallagher who says he hunts these k1liers down because they k1lled his partner and his family. He bonds with the detective, as he has also lost his partner.

The acting was good, you can recognize the aliens based on their blank,expressionless stare.

The visual effects were good.

The soundtrack was what you'd expect from an '80's movie, although towards the end it gets good, as it sounds like the drumming of the heart beat in the ears .

The movie has a 1993 sequel, titled, The Hidden II.

The movie received positive reviews and grossed 9.7 million dollars against a budget of 4.5 million. The director, Jack Sholder, and actor Michael Nouri were nominated and even received awards for their work on the movie.
