Guy Pearce plays a reclusive author who is bombarded with endless letters from an obsessive fan. His character,Bruce, keeps on going back and forth from being nice to being angry and mean to him, calling him and leaving him messages on his answering machine.

Bruce Cogburn doesn't like technology,so he doesn't even have a phone or computer, he goes to the nearest town to call the fan, and to log on to the internet.

One morning,after passing out drunk, a police officer finds him and takes him home. She offers to help him, and later on, turns out maybe, she's not who she says she is.

Bruce is controversial due to the fact his book, The Infernal Machine,about a priest who literally finds God, was the "inspiration" for a mentally unstable individual, who k!lled many people,because (he thinks) the book,or the author,told him so!

I personally enjoyed the movie,I was really drawn into it, although the first let's say,30 minutes felt slow like a drama.

The actors were all great, Guy Pearce, and Jeremy Davies, who always played characters with quirks,were the best.
