A couple decide to buy a house the wife has been eyeing for a while, on this beautiful property.
As they visit the beautiful property, they have,at first, a terrifying encounter with the owner of the place,as he is hunting a deer right in front of them.
The husband doesn't like guns,something which has to do with his brother.
The house is beautiful,but the husband feels it's outdated. After a back and forth with the owner, who wants a higher price, they buy it.
The couple move in, they make the house their own,changing a few rooms and items.
A short while after they settled in, the wife sees the previous owner mowing their lawn!
Talking to the wife, they find out he's not leaving yet, for his daughter's place in Florida,as he first mentioned.
The wife feels sorry for him, so she invites him for Thanksgiving. At the Thanksgiving meal, the previous owner doesn't seem to be happy with the changes made to the house.
The couple hear things at night, they see people on their property, at night, and when they install a security camera to see what's going on, the previous owner shows up again,up in arms that the people working there,are destroying his house!
It seems the previous owner is always at their place, mostly talking to the wife, and it gives off the vibe he is trying to get the wife, so he can move back into the house.
The movie had a really good idea but it was poorly executed.
The actors seemed fine, although Dennis Quiad was overacting at times.
The music didn't match the movie. Most times,especially in the beginning, the movie didn't have a soundtrack,but songs which were too upbeat and didn't match the vibe of the movie,for example, the movie opens with such an upbeat song, I thought I was watching The Fast and The Furious,also due to the fact it starts with what I thought to be a car chase .
After something bad happened to the couple, the husband goes running in the morning, and instead of a pensive music, to reveal his state of mind, they play this ridiculous upbeat song! Not to mention, that that's when something bad happens to him, which again, the song didn't match! This reminded me of Stigmata,and how the soundtrack was like the soundtrack to the lead's life. After a serious conversation, as she's walking,you can read her emotions on her face, you can sense her state of mind, of spirit, and also, the conversation which haunts her is being replayed, as if we have an insight into her inner world,on a pensive soundtrack.
The movie also ends with this ridiculous upbeat song which belongs in an action movie!

Rating : Could have been a contender ! leaning more towards The HORROR !
