Russ is a no bullshit image consultant, who, because he's unhappy,is making the life of everyone around him miserable due to how he treats them. He is very good at his job and he has many clients, but that's pretty much it,as he doesn't have a life outside his job,he doesn't have a family,a love interest or any friends. Or a good relationship with his father.

On the eve of his 40th birthday, he finds his old plane by the stairs of his home, thinking his father left it there. He's then awoken a few times during his 3 hour sleep in the middle of the night,to find in the end,a kid in his house. Talking to the kid,he realizes it's himself, age 8.

Thinking he's going crazy(and he doesn't have time for it,as he's a very busy man),he goes to his psychiatrist to fill him a prescription. He still sees the kid,and thinking the kid is there for him to help him,he tries to figure out what does the kid need help with.

But what if it's the other way around?

This was one of my favorite movies for the past 20 years. It's a feel good, and yet, melancholy movie, about a man who thinks he has everything, but realizes he has nothing. He didn't achieve any of the things he wanted as a kid:to become a pilot,to have a dog named Chester,to have a family and kids.

The acting was fine. Melissa McCarthy has a cameo as a waitress in the diner.

The visual effects were good, they mostly consist of Bruce Willis talking to himself towards the end(but I think he wasn't in the same frame with himself).

I didn't like the soundtrack.

The Kid is streaming on Disney+, and is for rent / sale on Amazon Video, Apple Tv, DirecTv, Google Play, Vudu, YouTube .
