The perfect man

Year of release : 2005

Run time : 1h41min

Genre : Comedy / Romance

Cast : Hillary Duff, Heather Locklear, Chris Noth

Single mother,Jean, gets her heart broken and decides to move to another state. She does this every time a man breaks her heart, not caring about what this does to her daughters' lives.

Holly writes her thoughts and feelings on her personal blog, and this time she pretty much had enough of her mother moving her around the USA every few months.

When she sees her mother starts dating a man who seems like the usual she dates, shallow and selfish(he makes her take her shoes off when she gets into his car), Holly decides to create a perfect man, inspired by what her friend's uncle, Ben, says.

Because the man doesn't exist,so they can't meet, Holly starts writing her letters, then sending her mails, lying Ben is opening a restaurant in China.

Jean falls for imaginary Ben and leaves the man she dates.

Holly starts to fall for a boy she talks to,who lends her his computer to write mails to her mother as Ben, and who is a very good drawer, drawing comics with her as the lead.

When her mother is invited to a bridal shower at real Ben's restaurant, Holly goes to desperate lengths to keep them from meeting, and after, decides it's time to come clean.

The movie is a easy watching, fast going romantic comedy. Jean at first seems selfish and self centered, not thinking about what this life without friends, always moving, can do to her daughters.

Holly is likeable and relatable. Her friends are nice, she doesn't meet bullies .

The acting was fine.

The soundtrack was so and so,as in this kind of movies the songs used are not good, they are just very boring, generic. There's a song they dance to,which is so obvious they don't dance to , and I think they say how good the song is,but the song to me is bland.

The movie is for rent / sale on Amazon, Apple, Fandango at Home.

Rating : Worth a watch !
