The movie is based on Transformers, a media franchise started in 1984, encompassing toys, animation, comic books, video games, and films, produced by American toy company Hasbro and Japanese toy company Takara Tomy.

Transformers follows the Autobots and Decepticons, alien factions at war with each other, that can transform in other machines like vehicles, house appliances or animals.

Two years after the events of the first movie, the Autobots help the American military in their tasks, and bring in more transformers to Earth.

The Decepticons look for the Matrix which can awaken the Fallen in order to take Earth.

Sam is going to college, and his mother is crying all the time at the thought, as Mikaela is upset at the thought of the long distance relationship.

Sam finds a sliver from a cube in his home, that awakens all the appliances in his home, so Bumblebee comes to his rescue. After being rescued, Sam breaks up with Bumblebee, as he tells it life in his garage is not a life fit for an Autobot. Bumblebee is not happy about it.

Sam gives the sliver to Mikaela. A Decepticon follows her to retrieve it, but he ends up taken hostage by her, calling her Warrior Goddess, which I found a nice touch.

The sliver is useless to them anyway, as all the knowledge is passed to Sam, as his mind is inundated with the foreign alphabet.

The Decepticons follow Sam and kidnap him, trying to unlock the knowledge locked in his mind.

They end up in Egypt, and the military descend upon a small poor village which they destroy in their fight with the Decepticons. They couldn't move the eff away from the village! All I could think of was the poor people left without a home, food source and income!

They also destroy landmarks like the temples and the pyramids.

I personally hate when they destroy buildings, cars and whole cities or villages, and this is what Michael Bay is known for ,as he loves this.

I hated Sam's mother,as she comes across as unhinged. She eats a cake with marijuana, and then acts a fool around Sam's colleagues and classmates. So unclassy for a woman her age! Probably the writers/ producers thought an old woman/mother as the comic relief would be damn right funny(falling on the grass, being taken on her husband's shoulder while she protests drugged out of her mind ), but it wasn't, it was embarrassing, like an old person trying to relieve their youth!

Mikaela is annoying too, as the whole movie she is asking Sam to tell her he loves her,as he's not ready for it.

The movie felt too long after the 1:30-2 hours mark, as it felt the movie kept on dragging them getting to their destination. Most of the movie is them trying to get to the pyramid , and I felt they'd never get there, as I was losing my patience! They were always chased by something trying to kill them, which delayed the objective.

The visual effects were somewhat Ok, as one can tell they are CGI.

The soundtrack was Ok.

The acting was fine, the best to me was Shia LaBeouf, who had to scream a lot, and be thrown off things, John Turturro, and Ramon Rodriguez, who plays Sam's/ Shia's roomate, who was dragged into this by accident. Megan Fox looked like she was posing the whole time, and was the worst in the movie.

The movie is streaming on Freevee Amazon Channel, HBO Max, Netflix, Paramount Plus, Paramount+Amazon Channel, Paramount+ Roku Premium Channel, and is for rent or sale on Amazon, Apple, DirecTv, Google, Redbox, YouTube.

Rating : I would give it a Worth a watch !, but this is a movie I don't want to watch again, so I'm leaning towards Could have been..
