Two hitmen are in the car together in the middle of the night, as they wait for a couple to go to sleep. Once they hear they do, they enter the home, inject the wife with something, so she’ll sleep, and wake the ex husband up.
One of them, Lee, interrogates him for one minute, after which he sho00ts him.
The next morning, Lee sho0ts his partner, and frames him for the murder, then blows the car up.
Unluckily for him, Dosmo, his partner, wore a bulletproof vest, and got out of the car just in time.
Teddy is a former tv director (who even got an Emmy Award back in 1982), who doesn’t have enough money to pay the rent, and who is trying to k1ll himself, but keeps on missing the opportunity, while he also tries to find a new home for his dog. After visiting a graveyard, he sees a nurse and is asking her to take care of his dog. The nurse accepts to give the dog to her brother, after she recognizes him, and even asks him to join her, to meet him.
Alvin Strayer and Wes Taylor are two detectives who are trying to find out if an Asian massage parlour offers more than massages. On their way to their next stake out, they see a woman in her underwear, covered in blood, who tells them her husband was shot.
Dosmo reaches the house of a rich man, who just got home from the hospital, after passing kidney stones, and takes him and his assistant hostage. He wants to leave, but the police comes to the scene of the explosion, which is near the house, so he remains inside.
The nurse and the tv director come to see the rich man, as he’s the one she wants to give the dog to.
So Dosmo takes them all hostage.
We find out Lee and his girlfriend are conning people together, with her having to date them. Despite all this, Lee is very jealous and doesn’t want her to sleep with them.
After she leaves the police station, Becky, the one who’s husband was k1lled, gets in the car with the hitman’s girlfriend, and we find out she hired them to k1ll him. Due to the fact they k1lled him in her home, right next to her, she has a problem with them, and looks like everything is gonna fall apart, especially when Helga, the hitman’s girl, admits to liking Becky’s ex, and sleeping with him. And not just that, but the money for their job is in Becky’s home, where the police are, looking for clues and evidence.
The movie bored me. I do not like this kind of movies, in which everything goes from worse to worst. I didn’t find it entertaining. There are too many characters and it feels nothing really happens.
They keep on saying how hot it is, but they wear a lot of long sleeve clothes. The rich guy wears a t-shirt or sweater under his shirt with a vest on top.
The acting was mostly fine. At times I thought Teri Hatcher didn’t give 100% (she was nominated for Worst Supporting Actress at the Razzie Awards for the role) but maybe it was due to her character being involved in the murder.
I hated the soundtrack.
Viewer discretion is advised, as the movie contains nudity, mostly (if not only) from Charlize Theron.
The movie is labelled a dark comedy but I didn’t laugh once, as I didn’t find anything funny.
Rating : The horror, the horror !
