David is driving late at night on a secluded road, after trying to avoid waiting until the road gets cleared on their normal route.
His wife,Amy, that he is on the verge of divorce from,is sleeping.
She wakes up after he almost has an accident, trying to avoid a raccoon on the street.
This leads to car problems.
Stopping at a gas station which also has a motel, the mechanic looks at the car and tells him he can drive it to where he needs to go,just that,a mile after, the car breaks down.
Stranded, they make their way back to the motel.
Entering the reception office, they hear a woman screaming, and it turns out the man was watching a movie.
They are being given a room which turns out to be dirty. As soon as they settled in,someone starts banging on the door...and on the door to the adjoined room. Looking to see who it is, there's nobody there.
After complaining to the man from the reception, David comes back into the room, and plays a videotape. He realizes the people murdered scream in the same way as the woman in the movie at the reception, and were filmed in the room they are in now!
David finds out the room is filled with hidden cameras and the bathroom window nailed shut ,and they decide to leave. Just then, the banging starts again, and the lights go on and off.
They realize all the men they met that evening were all part of this, and never meant to help them in any way.
They escape the room running for the woods, but two masked men come for them, and they lock themselves in the room again.
David figures out on the tapes the murderers appear suddenly in the room, so they must have a secret way in.
I personally enjoyed the movie, it didn't bore me,it kept me watching and interested. I didn't feel the need to check my phone like with many of the movies today.
The leading couple go from being unable to communicate, to working together to save themselves, rekindling their feelings.
The actors were great, especially the two leads.
The soundtrack was good.
The visual effects were good.
