Genre : Supernatural Horror
Cast : Isla Fisher, Jim Parsons, Eva Longoria
A year after a terrible car crash, Eveleigh moves with her husband to a vineyard they bought. Eveleigh is pregnant and stopped taking her antidepressants in fear they might hurt the baby.
As soon as they move in,she starts seeing things, and her husband and doctor, think her crazy. They want her to go back on antidepressants, although she's not depressed.
Her friend, played by Eva Longoria who is a cameo in this movie, moves to France for a few months,so she is isolated from her friends, while her husband although there,is far away from her emotionally as he thinks it's all in her head.
She starts taking Yoga classes for pregnant women and she befriends a woman who is due around the same time she is. She tells her about her life, the reason she took antidepressants ( she was in a car accident involving another car, there was a woman with a baby in the other car,the baby died;Eveleigh considers herself responsible),and the woman tells her not to take the antidepressants for they might hurt the baby.
In the end,she is forced to take them by her husband and doctor, and for a while the strong, scary visions, stop.
But then,Eveleigh finds out she wasn't the only one having visions in the house, the former owners of the house ( all female ),going back 100 years ( maybe,I might have gotten that wrong) had visions of the same nature too,to the point the first owner of the house burnt it down.
SPOILERS - Turns out the visions were premonitions and it was about what was about to happen to them at the hands of her new friend. These premonitions rippled back in time, and this was also what the previous owners saw : Eveleigh, her husband and their friends.
The acting was good,so were the visual effects...the husband was unlikeable because,as always in these movies, he doesn't believe her, and instead of supporting her ,goes about it in the wrong way.
Eveleigh was isolated from her peers, due to what she experiences,as no one believes her,so,that adds up to her anxiety.
The landscapes were beautiful,so was the house, inside and out.
Rating : Worth a watch !
