The series are based on a 2014 movie with the same name.

 

 

Season 1

 

The series are built like a reality show,in which vampires invite a film crew into their home to film their day to day lives. We get to see them having house guests,a very old Baron,who asks them to conquer humanity,but they’re not really into it; taking the baron out for a night of fun; having problems with werewolves and other vampires; dealing with ugly cursed hats that for some unknown reason male vampires find appealing and fight over; and being trialed by the high council of vampires(played by actors who played vampires in movies like Tilda Swinton, Wesley Snipes and Evan Rachel Wood)and found guilty for the death of the Baron which they did not kill( SPOILER it was the familiar Guillermo,by accident,opening the door as the sun was out).

 

The characters are funny,I like their accents. The situations are funny.

 

Nadja, the female vampire has a human crush which she found through the ages,at first stalking him,then meets him and spends time with him(the guy actually likes her),making him remember his past lives,driving him insane. I don’t understand if she liked him so much,why didn’t she turn him?

 

The only thing I didn't like about the series is that they have some vulgar moments SPOILERS like in the episode with werewolves,they urinate on the topiary sculptures Laszlo creates(he has a garden full of women he loved,private parts,which I find equally disgusting and wrong,considering he’s been married to Nadja for ages. Then we find out he was Jack the Ripper,so maybe it makes sense)

 

 

 

 

Season 2

 

 

Guillermo becomes a vampire hunter, as he finds out he is descended from Abraham Van Helsing and what he does mostly, is protect his vampires from others.

He first joins a group of people who seem to be into mosquitoes because he needs to find virgins for his master, but discovers they are actually vampire hunters. They go on a hunt and he kills most of the vampires in the den.

With his new found powers he starts to gain more confidence and asks Nandor if he’s ever gonna turn him into a vampire.

 

Nandor didn’t think of it,so he leaves to work for another vampire. He soon discovers she’s not really a vampire and just pretends,but this gives him the upper hand on Nandor who wants him back,so he comes back with a few demands.

 

The characters are funny, Gregor makes a comeback as a ghost but they just leave that hanging in the air,as they do nothing about it.

 

What I didn’t like is that in the episode with the ghosts they actually call on their own ghosts as to the creators,vampires don’t have fricking souls,and as they walk the earth,their restless ghost are roaming somewhere!

 

 

Rating : Worth a watch !
