The movie is a remake of the 1993 French movie of the same name, written and directed by Pierre Salvadori.
Victor is a lonely hitman, who is learning French when not on a job. He is following in his father's footsteps, who was also an assassin. His mother is telling him that he is about to turn the age his father was when they had him, 55 years old, and she wants a grandchild unless he's gay.
Rose is a thief or kleptomaniac (as she's constantly stealing, no matter where she goes!) and con artist, who is convincing her friend (who likes her) who is restoring paintings, to give her the original and the fake he painted, so she could sell it to a billionaire who is willing to pay a lot of money for the original.
The plan is to show him the original and then switch it with the fake as she asks for more money he's not willing to give, but the man is willing to pay as much as she asks for for this ugly painting. She still manages to create a distraction, and switch the paintings.
Leaning too close to the painting, the billionaire's nose gets dirty from the fresh paint which didn't dry yet (which doesn't make any sense as it would have been ruined in the suitcase, but whatever)!!! And he hires Victor to k1ll her.
At first Victor is following her around, trying to k1ll her, but she turns out to be very hard to k1ll, as he k1lls other people instead or misses his mark!
He realizes he fell for her, and when the billionaire hires someone else to k1ll her, he rescues her, and a man who helped them get away from the two assassins, by taking them to his secluded home in the country.
So, Victor, turns from the one who's supposed to k1ll her into her protector.
I personally enjoyed the movie, I laughed with tears quite a few times!
The characters are ridiculous and funny, the situations they are in are even more ridiculous, as Rose can't help but always be in the spotlight, even when they are hiding (as she doesn't want to lay low, and also always steals from everywhere she goes although she's a millionaire now from selling the fake to the billionaire! She leaves the boots she stole from a d3ad assassin by their hotel door while the billionaire and his men are a few doors away from them without their knowledge!), bringing attention to them, making it easier for the assassins to find them.
Victor's mother (who's in a wheelchair) is trying to save his reputation, as he was the best in his field, by k1lling Rose.
I liked Emily's style.
The acting was good.
I don't remember the soundtrack (I think it sounded French) , or if it had visual effects..
The movie received mixed to negative reviews, and grossed 3.5 million dollars at the box office, against a budget of 8 million.
