The movie opens with a couple rock climbing in a West Virginia forest. The woman realizes the man was k1lled, and she is next.

Chris is driving to a meeting that he is already late for. The road he is on is crowded, and cars stopped moving, as a chemical spill took place due to some accident on the road. He decides to take another road, and ends up driving his car into a parked one, as he's reading the map instead of watching the dirt road.

The 5 friends he meets tell him they were not parked, as their wheels were punctured by barb wire strategically placed on the dirt road.

Separating and trying to get back to the gas station Chris stopped by, asking for directions earlier, now asking for help, they start being hunted by deformed men.

The couple who stayed at the car are the first ones to fall victims to the mad men, who take them to their secluded home.

The other 4 people end up at the k1llers' house as they are looking for people to help them, and see their house is a sort of house of horrors, where they keep human remains for food, and memorabilia from the victims. When they want to get out, the cannibals arrive home with one of their friends, whom they k1lled.

The 4 friends hide in their home, hoping they won't be found, as they can't find another way out, except for the front door.

The movie isn't bad, but it's the usual slasher film, in which the villains don't need a reason for k1lling, they just do it for fun and just because people were in their area, and I don't appreciate it. They could have at least made it so the friends started being hunted once they stumbled upon the k1llers and their victims, but the k1llers just hunt people the way others hunt animals.

I did like the summer vibe the forest had.

The actors were good.

The soundtrack was good.

The visual effects were good.

The movie received negative reviews from critics, the score being under 50% , and grossed 28.7 million dollars at the box office, against a budget of 12.6 million.

Cinema Score audiences graded the movie a C-.

The movie has 2 sequels , 2 prequels and 2 reboots.

Although the movie's action is set in West Virginia, it was filmed in a nature reserve north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Actress Emmanuelle Chriqui dislocated her shoulder while filming the falling from the tree scene.
