Jane loves weddings, she loves them so much, she’s been to 27 weddings as the bride’s maid, and does all she can to help her friends who are getting married. She even goes as far as to try the bride’s wedding dress since she’s too busy to go to the fitting!
Jane loves weddings so much, she ends up going to 2 weddings on the same day, as she’s the bride’s maid at both weddings.
Kevin, who writes articles about weddings, sees Jane going back and forth the whole evening, from one wedding to the other, changing dresses in the cab.
Jane meets Kevin after she’s been knocked unconscious by a girl who was trying to catch the bouquet.
After he drops her off, Kevin finds Jane’s planner, and realizes she’s been to 7 weddings already this year, and wants to write an article about her.
Jane is in love with her boss, George, and everybody at the office knows apparently, except for him.
Jane picks up her sister, Tess, from the airport, who stays with her for a while, and asks her if she wants to go with her to one of her co-workers’ engagement party, that she arranged. Although at first she refuses, Tess shows up at the party, and steals George’s heart.
Having her planner, Kevin comes to the party, and asks Jane if she liked the flowers he sent her, the flowers she thought were from her boss. Kevin gives her her planner back, and asks her to have a drink with him, but she’s too busy worrying about George and her sister.
Her sister and George get serious pretty fast, and instead of Jane trying to talk her out of dating him, she only says nice things about George, making her like him more!
Jane calls Kevin, because he wrote his phone number and name all over her planner. He asks her out, but she refuses.
Cleaning George’s desk, Jane sees he forgot his wallet, and checking his schedule, she sees he’s at a restaurant, so she goes there, only to find out he’s proposing to her sister. I think it’s only been a few weeks, honestly!
Her sister ends up marrying in 3 weeks, and because she’s spoiled and doesn’t like to do anything, she asks Jane to do everything that needs to be done for her own wedding. Jane doesn’t mind somehow.
Her sister is very spoiled, she doesn’t carry her own luggage, Jane does, and seems fake and annoying. She doesn’t care about anyone but herself, and is very entitled. Her father gives her her mother’s dress to wear which she said in the beginning she doesn’t like, and cuts to pieces using only a small piece of it for her wedding gown, when she knows Jane wants to wear it at her own wedding. She uses Pedro, George’s little brother from the NY’s Big Brother Program to clean her house. She pretends to like animals (she hates them),the outside and not eat meat, because George loves animals, has a dog, loves outdoors and is a vegetarian. She’s so unlikeable, to women, that she doesn’t have any girl friends, and has to ask her cousins and Jane’s best friend to be her bride’s maids. And uses Jane’s idea to get married at the boat house their parents had their wedding party at, knowing Jane wanted to have her wedding there.
Jane finally agrees to see Kevin, and finds out he is her favorite wedding writer ( he uses his other name as a writer so people wouldn’t recognize him), when his sister brings him in to talk about her wedding, as it’s going to be in his paper as one of his next articles.
Kevin comes to see Jane, and talking about weddings, she shows him her 27 bride’s maids gowns that he takes pictures of, and writes an article.
His boss likes his piece, and wants to publish it as soon as possible. Kevin asks her to wait, as he likes Jane, and doesn’t want to “make his career on her back”.
His boss tells him she’ll wait, but she publishes it, and Jane gets to see herself plastered all over the 2 pages of his newspaper.
Kevin is trying to explain himself but Jane doesn’t want to hear it. Tess is also mad at him and Jane, as she only thinks about herself, and this makes Jane have enough of her.
I enjoyed the movie, but I refuse to believe someone who is in love with her boss wouldn’t quit her job when he starts dating, not to mention, I refuse to believe that if someone’s sister started dating their love interest they would be around them that much and help them with anything. It was ridiculous! I would stay as far away from them as possible. She was planning their wedding, and wasn’t a freaking wreck! I don’t even understand how was she able to plan their wedding and not have a mental breakdown!
Also, she always loved weddings, and didn’t become a wedding planner?! That should have been her dream job!
Tess was annoying.
Kevin didn’t deserve a second chance.
The acting was good.
I didn’t like the soundtrack of the movie, but some of the songs chosen for it weren’t bad.
The movie holds a 5.8 user score on Metacritic, a 57 popcorn meter on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 6.1 rating on IMDB.
