The movie is based on 'A Cinderella Story' by Leigh Dunlap,from 2004,with Hillary Duff,based on the Cinderella story by Charles Perrault. The movie is the 5th installment in the series of 'A Cinderella Story' films.

Kat is a teenager who dreams of becoming a great singer. She lives with her evil stepmother and step sisters,who make her work all day at a Christmas entertainment park, Santa Land,then when she comes home,for them,as they spend all day home,doing nothing.

She befriends the man who impersonates Santa without knowing he is Dominic Wintergarden(the name!rolling my eyes!) ,the son of the billionaire Terrence Wintergarden,who owns the themed park.

Her evil stepmother wants to go to an event the billionaire is hosting,so,she decides to use her dead husband as a connection. They go through Kat's things,and steal her snow globe.

The billionaire sends an employee to invite them to the party,asking about Kat,and telling the family to bring her. The evil woman doesn't want to bring Kat,so she decides to dress one of her daughters as her.

Dominic,disguised as Santa,offers Kat a ticket to the party,and then asks her to reveal themselves,as the whole time they interact in the Santa and elf identity,although,her face is not covered at all,she only wears elf ears and a hat,with the same haircut,but colored hair. He reveals himself,but Kat refuses when she realizes who he is(rolling my eyes).

The acting was fine,so was the singing,the actors had good voices,but they all sounded too perfect,especially when they were dancing on stage. They start singing,while interacting which each other,as if people would do this in real life,sing to each other instead of talking!

Needless to say, due to the fact I don't like musicals,the musical bits bored me,especially since they're not realistic-she even flies when they're dancing,in one of these numbers!

The step mother and sisters were so infuriating. They are stupid,shallow,evil snobs. Dominic's friends are shallow and just as evil. For some unknown reason she goes to his place dressed in the elf outfit,just because!

Her sister is much taller than her,but somehow,Kat's dress fits!

Kat ends up singing in a show she didn't prepare for at all! Her voice also sounds like it has sound effects on it;but it's live. At the end of the show she doesn't even look tired.

Her friend creates her dresses which would take weeks to finish within hours.

I liked the Christmas vibe, one thing I love in Christmas movies are the decorations. I also liked Kat's ball dresses,the green one before her evil sister turned into a circus gown.

Rating : Could have been a contender !
