Based on a 1989 John Grisham novel by the same name, that the author said is autobiographical,as the leading young attorney is pretty much himself,( the book is based on a case he witnessed in 1984,of a 12 year old r@pe victim),the movie tells the story of a man of color accused of k!lling the men who r@ped his daughter.

In Clanton,Mississippi,on a hot summer day,two white men, racists, see a little girl walking on the side of the street, and decide to r@pe ,b3at and k!ll her.

The 10 year old girl survives, and her father, after the two men are arrested, goes to the court house where they are taken and sh0ots them with a shotgun, wounding the police officer walking with them at the time.

The police arrest the father, and the district attorney wants to plead for the capital punishment.

The little girl's father,Carl Lee,asks Jake Brigance to take his case,as he defended his brother in the past.

Once the trial starts, the brother of one of the r@pists / victims, enlists in the KKK and they take to the streets, and not only, seeking vengeance. The ones who are most affected by this clan is the white lawyer who is defending a person of color,as they target his family, his office, his secretary, and anyone who helps.

This is one of the best movies I ever watched, although it's 2 hours and a half,I didn't feel time passing,as the movie is fast paced and keeps you on your seat. The actors are great, each becoming their characters, the characters all well written and defined, they know who they are, know what they want, and go for it,the music blends in,and the story keeps moving.

The movie received mixed reviews, and grossed 152 million dollars against a budget of 40 million!

CinemaScore audiences gave the movie and A, on an A+ to F scale.

Joel Schumacher wanted Woody Harrelson to play Jake Brigance, but John Grisham was against it. Even Val Kilmer was considered at first.

Sandra Bullock got 6 million dollars for the 5 weeks she worked on the movie.

The movie is fore rent / sale on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTv, Fandango at Home.

Rating : It's so money !
