The movie opens with a face hugger bleeding acid and sabotaging the ship Ripley, Newt and Cpl Dwayne are on. We see the face hugger attached to someone's face, and we find out at the end who that was, although it makes no sense ,because we see the capsule at the beginning being untouched.

They crash land on planet Fury,a prison planet where the worse of the worse were brought, and which now only inhabited 25 people who didn't want to leave when the base was closed.

Waking up,Ripley fears a face hugger might have sabotaged their ship,as she sees the acid on the capsule, and asks the doctor to perform an autopsy on her. There was no evidence of a face hugger egg in her.

Ripley also faces the disrespect of the former inmates of the prison planet,as they are all men,and they didn't see a woman in years. They fear her presence might disrupt the balance of things. They are right, as Ripley is used to doing things her way, and her running around, trying to figure out what happened ,gets her into trouble as a group of inmates almost r@pe her.

As the dog the inmates had with them and a few other inmates start dying in the most atrocious ways,it's obvious to Ripley the alien followed her to this bleak wasteland, and tries to figure out how to kill it.

The actors are all great.

The soundtrack is good,so are the visual effects. The movie is shot mostly on these brown colors,as if maybe,to show this planet in decay.

The movie flopped at the American box office, but grossed 100 million dollars outside North America. It was made with about 60 million dollars and grossed 180 million worldwide.

The director hates this version of the movie, as he said it was not his original idea, due to the studio's involvement in the project.

The movie had quite a few scripts in the making until this one was chosen, which was unfinished!

Before directing this movie David Fincher was known for directing videos.

David Fincher wanted Gary Oldman in the movie, but they were quoted as saying they "couldn't work it out".

The movie received mixed reviews from critics, being considered beneath the previous installments, while the audiences gave the movie a C, on an A+ to F scale.

Alien 3 was nominated for an Oscar, for Best Visual Effects, and for 7 Saturn Awards, including one for Best Actress for Sigourney Weaver, Best Supporting Actor, for Charles S.Dutton, Best Direction for David Fincher, and Best Writing.
